The Call to the Churches in the Age of Gaza, Christian Nationalism and the Cry of the Palestinian Christians

Please join a timely and important four-part online lecture and discussion series to be held on September 3, 9, 16, and 21, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., led by Dr. Mark Braverman, a long-time friend of St. John’s Norwood.

The situation in the Holy Land today presents urgent challenges for American society. With the resurgence of Christian Nationalism and Christian Zionism, the churches in particular are called to speak and act in faithfulness to Christianity’s core values of universal love and compassion.

In this four-part lecture series, Dr. Braverman will address key issues, including:

  • How do we reconcile the Old Testament promises and what we have been given to understand about God’s plan for the Jewish people with what is happening today with Israel and the Palestinians?
  • How do we understand the events of October 7, 2023, and the aftermath in the context of the history of both peoples?
  • What are the implications for Christian-Jewish relations today, with the charge of antisemitism employed to stifle conversation about Israel and Zionism and to silence the call of the Palestinian Christians to the churches of the world?

Please register now and plan to join the following webinar sessions. All sessions are held 7 – 8:30 p.m.

  • THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3
