Ministries

As followers of Jesus, we strive to reach out to world with God’s love through the following ministries:

*Eucharistic Visitors – Eucharistic visitors are trained church members who visit with and take Holy Communion to individuals who are unable to attend worship due to illness or other circumstances.

*Spirit Team – Members of the Spirit Team support the work and ministry of the church through providing food and hospitality for church events, funerals, and celebrations.

*Christ Church Food Pantry – Christ Church operates a food pantry that provides groceries for residents of Charles County who are in need of food assistance.  The food pantry is open on Friday mornings.  Please contact the church office at 301-392-1051 for additional information.

*Summer Camp Scholarships – Each year, the members of Christ Church provide scholarships for students at the Bishop Walker School in Washington, D.C., to participate in a Christian summer camp program sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.

*Angel’s Watch Shelter – Each month, we provide meals for the residents of the Angel’s Watch Shelter, an emergency shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence.

*Episcopal Relief & Development – Throughout the year, we support the work of Episcopal Relief and Development as they assist individuals and families affected by natural disasters.

*Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem – Christ Church provides financial assistance to the ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem.  These ministries include schools, clinics, and hospitals open to all in need (regardless of religious affiliation) throughout the Middle East.
